On August 3, 2026, Fosun Pharma announced that its controlling subsidiary Fosun Wanbang (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Group received NMPA approval for empagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets (III). The approved indication is to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes already treated with these two drugs, in combination with diet and exercise. Another controlling subsidiary, Suzhou Erye Pharmaceutical, received approval for compound polyethylene glycol (3350) electrolyte powder to treat chronic constipation in children aged 1-11 and fecal impaction in children aged 5-11.
