Fosun Pharma Gets NMPA Approval for Two Drug Applications, Covering Diabetes and Childhood Constipation

On August 3, 2026, Fosun Pharma announced that its controlling subsidiary Fosun Wanbang (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Group received NMPA approval for empagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets (III). The approved indication is to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes already treated with these two drugs, in combination with diet and exercise.
