12 FTZ Offshore Bonds Issued Since Restart, Totaling 4.3 Billion Yuan
Since the restart in June 2025, 12 FTZ offshore bonds totaling approximately 4.3 billion yuan have been issued, all by overseas branches of Chinese financial institutions. State-owned banks issued nine of the 12 bonds. The market adheres to the 'both ends outside' principle, with issuers and investors both offshore. Future plans include expanding to 'going out' enterprises and Belt and Road countries. Interest rates range from 1.6% to 1.9%, well below comparable dollar or euro bonds.
