Since July 2026, about 250 A-share companies have announced buyback and shareholding increase plans, with a total upper limit of 89.1 billion yuan. The year 2000 is referenced as a historical benchmark for such corporate actions. CATL plans to repurchase up to 40 billion yuan in A-shares for cancellation, while other firms like Zhongji Innolight and Foxconn Industrial Internet also disclosed significant buyback programs.

Since July 2026, about 250 listed companies have intensively disclosed buyback and shareholding increase plans, with a total upper limit of 89.1 billion yuan. Among them, the upper limit for company-proposed buybacks is approximately 75.2 billion yuan, and the upper limit for shareholder shareholding increases is about 13.9 billion yuan.

In terms of buybacks, CATL plans to spend up to 40 billion yuan to repurchase A-shares for cancellation and reduction of registered capital. The chairman of Zhongji Innolight proposed a buyback of 4 billion to 8 billion yuan for equity incentives or employee stock ownership plans, with any unused portion to be cancelled after three years. Foxconn Industrial Internet plans a buyback of 1 billion to 2 billion yuan, and Dongshan Precision plans a buyback of 200 million to 300 million yuan.

In terms of shareholding increases, the controlling shareholder of BOE A, Beijing Electronic Control, plans to increase holdings by 500 million to 1 billion yuan. The controlling shareholder of Hailiang Stock plans to increase holdings by 600 million to 1 billion yuan. The indirect controlling shareholder of Chongqing Port, Chongqing Logistics Group, has already increased holdings by 3.0334 million yuan and plans to continue increasing by 20 million to 30 million yuan over the next six months. The company itself also plans a buyback of 20 million to 30 million yuan. Controlling shareholders of central state-owned enterprises such as Weichai Power and China Three Gorges have also announced shareholding increase plans ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of yuan. Vanchip plans a buyback of 80 million to 100 million yuan, and the concert party of the controlling shareholder of Yandong Micro plans to increase holdings by 150 million to 300 million yuan. The year 2000 is noted as a historical reference for corporate buyback activity.
