Adobe Names Anil Chakravarthy CEO, Succeeding Shantanu Narayen

Adobe announced on September 3 that Anil Chakravarthy will become its next chief executive, effective December 1, succeeding Shantanu Narayen, who will serve as executive chairman. Chakravarthy, previously president of customer experience orchestration and global field operations, will also join the board. Adobe shares fell about 2% in after-hours trading.

Adobe announced on Thursday, September 3, that Anil Chakravarthy will become its next chief executive officer, succeeding Shantanu Narayen. Chakravarthy, who previously served as president of customer experience orchestration and global field operations at Adobe, will assume the role on December 1 and join the company's board of directors.

Narayen will take on the position of executive chairman and will work closely with Chakravarthy during the transition. Narayen, who announced his departure in March 2026, joined Adobe in 1998 and has led the company for 18 years.

Adobe shares fell approximately 2% in after-hours trading following the announcement.
