Agricultural Bank of China announced its interim results for the period ended June 30, with net profit attributable to shareholders reaching RMB146.381 billion, up 4.9% year on year. Earnings per share stood at RMB0.40. The board declared an interim dividend of RMB0.1297 per share, an increase of 8.5% from the previous year.

During the period, total operating income amounted to RMB411.122 billion, up 11.2% year on year. Net interest income grew 10.5% to RMB312.244 billion, while net fee and commission income fell 8.7% to RMB46.959 billion, mainly due to the high base effect from one-off gains on legacy wealth management products in the same period of 2025.

In the first half, the net interest margin was 1.28% and the net interest spread was 1.19%, down 4 basis points and 1 basis point year on year respectively, primarily reflecting lower yields on interest-earning assets as the bank supported the real economy amid declining interest rates. Credit impairment losses totaled RMB110.62 billion, an increase of RMB12.665 billion from a year earlier, of which loan impairment losses rose RMB11.578 billion to RMB108.995 billion.

As of June 30, the non-performing loan ratio stood at 1.25%, down 0.02 percentage points from the end of 2025.
