Alibaba Cloud Cuts AIDC Delivery Time to 100 Days, Eyes Global Capacity Boost

Alibaba Cloud announced on August 10, 2026 that, based on its pioneering fully modular design architecture, it has shortened the delivery time for large-scale AIDC data centers to 100 days. Alongside the significant reduction in construction time, the overall construction cost of data centers has been cut by more than 10%. In 2026, Alibaba Cloud plans to more than double its global production capacity for modular data centers.

Alibaba Cloud's CUBE 5.0 architecture, developed for AIDC, features a fully modular design. The overall modularization rate of the five major systems — power supply, cooling, security, intelligent control, and fire protection — has risen from 30% in early stages to 90%. The architecture adopts high-voltage direct current, liquid-air compatible cooling technology, and ultra-high flexibility design, enabling compatibility with mainstream heterogeneous chips and computing architectures while supporting at least three generations of chip iterations.

Under the CUBE 5.0 architecture, the 100-day delivery cycle comprises 30 days for factory production and site preparation, 50 days for on-site installation, and 20 days for commissioning and testing, during which all five major systems are deployed. By comparison, traditional delivery cycles range from 6 to 12 months domestically and 12 to 18 months in the United States. The fully modular design of data centers allows parallel production across all stages: components are manufactured in factories, pre-fitted into containers, and then transported to sites for hoisting and assembly.
