Apple has officially added the iPhone X to its global discontinued list, ending hardware repairs and original parts supply. The device, launched in fall 2017, was removed from Apple's website in fall 2018 and classified as obsolete in 2024. Its entry into the discontinued list marks the end of its official lifecycle. The iPhone X introduced an all-screen design, Face ID, and OLED display, influencing industry trends. The move follows Apple's seven-year policy for devices no longer sold.

Apple has officially added the iPhone X to its global "discontinued" list. Following Apple's practice, when a device has been out of supply to the global sales network for seven years, official and authorized service providers will stop hardware repairs and no longer supply original parts. The iPhone X was released in the fall of 2017 and removed from Apple's website in the fall of 2018. It was added to the "obsolete" list in 2024. Its entry into the discontinued list now marks the formal end of its official lifecycle.

The iPhone X was Apple's first smartphone with an all-screen design, eliminating the physical home button on the front, introducing the Face ID recognition system, and being the first iPhone to feature an OLED display. The top of the screen housed a "notch" area containing the front camera, infrared camera, dot projector, and other components. The model also featured a glass back and stainless steel frame, and supported Qi wireless charging. After the iPhone X's release, several phone manufacturers launched products with similar notch designs, and OLED screens gradually became a mainstream configuration for smartphones.

Apple released the first iPhone in 2007, removing the physical keyboard and adopting a multi-touch screen. The iPhone X, released in 2017, removed the Home button, bringing the number of physical buttons on the front of the phone to zero. In 2026, when the iPhone X was added to the discontinued list, it was about one year before the twentieth anniversary of the iPhone's launch. Currently, public information about Apple's future products is limited, and no official plans for new models have been announced.
