Apple Inc. has announced a donation to support wildfire relief in southern Europe. According to the Joint Research Centre, Europe has experienced over 1,400 wildfires in 2026, burning more than 434,900 hectares. Severe fires in southwestern France have even generated thunderstorms. Spain, Greece, and Italy remain on high alert. Apple has a history of disaster aid, including recent support for earthquake-stricken Venezuela, hurricane-hit Caribbean, and a high-rise fire in Hong Kong.

The fires in southwestern France have been particularly intense, even triggering thunderstorms generated by the blazes. In addition, Spain, Greece, and Italy remain on high alert, as the overall fire risk across the region continues to rise.
Apple has a long-standing tradition of providing aid to global disasters. In June 2026, Apple offered an assistance plan for the northern coastal region of Venezuela after it was struck by two earthquakes. In October 2025, Apple provided post-disaster aid to the Caribbean region after it was hit by Hurricane Melissa. In November of the same year, Apple also donated to relief efforts following a severe fire in a high-rise apartment building in Hong Kong.
