Apple iOS 27.2 Beta 1 Adds Call Context to Phone App

In iOS 27.2 Beta 1, Apple has brought a Call Context feature to the Phone app. The feature searches for related content across apps and data during calls and applies labels.

For example, after a user books a flight and receives an email from the airline containing the airline's phone number, Call Context labels that number as belonging to the airline when the airline calls or when the user calls the airline.

If a user adds a date, namely an anniversary, to a number in Contacts, Call Context displays the anniversary information during a call when that number calls on the date or when the user calls it.

When editing a contact, there is an option to add a date, and the default is an anniversary. Anniversaries are recurring reminders that do not require a year to be set, and Call Context can display the anniversary information during calls each time the date comes around.

In addition, the Call Context feature in iOS 27 supports birthday reminders. After a user adds a contact's birthday, a call on that birthday displays not only the birthday but also a fireworks animation. The anniversary feature does not have a new animation effect.
