Apple Plans New Apple TV Box for Fall 2026 With Apple Silicon and On-Device AI

Apple plans to update its hardware for the living-room entertainment segment after its fall 2026 flagship phone and watch launch event. The company intends to introduce a new-generation Apple TV set-top box in fall 2026. The device will use a new-generation Apple Silicon processor and carry higher-specification unified memory. This would be the first major generational change since the Apple TV 4K with the A15 Bionic chip was launched in 2022.

On functionality, the new-generation Apple TV is planned to support the Apple Intelligence ecosystem and an upgraded Siri. The new version of Siri will have contextual conversational understanding, fuzzy semantic search, and the ability to connect intents across multimedia applications. The device will also support the Thread and Matter smart-home protocols, allowing it to coordinate connected devices throughout the home. For example, when a user issues a viewing command, it can dim the living-room lights, close motorized curtains, and optimize the sound-field calibration of the home theater audio system.
