Arm CEO Haas More Confident on USD 2 Billion AGI CPU Target, Official Guidance Still USD 1 Billion

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Arm chief executive Rene Haas said on September 16, 2026 that he is more confident the company's new AGI CPU data-centre chip can reach a USD 2 billion revenue target. Arm first disclosed USD 2 billion of demand visibility in May 2026, double the USD 1 billion figure given in March 2026, while keeping official guidance at USD 1 billion. Arm shares remain about 45% below their June 2026 high of USD 452.

Arm chief executive Rene Haas said on September 16, 2026 that he is more confident the company's new data-centre chip, the AGI CPU, can achieve a USD 2 billion revenue target. The AGI CPU is Arm's first data-centre central processing unit designed in-house. Arm previously mainly licensed chip designs to customers, and the AGI CPU represents a move by the company to sell complete chips. Haas said his confidence is now stronger than it was in July 2026. Amid the artificial intelligence boom, chipmakers are competing for limited manufacturing capacity, and whether supply can meet demand determines whether that demand can be converted into revenue.

On its May 2026 earnings call, Arm disclosed for the first time that demand visibility for the AGI CPU had reached USD 2 billion, double the USD 1 billion figure given when the first custom CPU was announced in March 2026. The company maintained official revenue guidance of USD 1 billion at the time while continuing to secure enough supply to meet additional demand. Arm shares fell 10% after that. On the July 2026 earnings call, management said confidence in obtaining the needed supply had improved, and the shares rose more than 7% on the following trading day.

Haas said that in May 2026 the company had visibility into USD 2 billion of demand, and that on the July 2026 earnings call its confidence in achieving that figure had risen from May; by September 2026, his confidence was stronger than in July. Arm shares have held onto their post-July 2026 earnings gains but remain about 45% below their June 2026 high of USD 452. The stock rose rapidly in the first half of 2026 before retreating from its June high.
