Baidu Apollo Go Backs MTR and Airport Authority in Hong Kong Autonomous Shuttle Road Tests
On August 19, Baidu's autonomous driving platform Apollo Go joined the MTR Corporation and Airport Authority Hong Kong in launching road tests for a self-driving connector service between the High Speed Rail West Kowloon Station and the Airport Express Kowloon Station. The project secured a pilot test licence from the Hong Kong Transport Department last week. Once operational, high-speed rail passengers can ride Apollo Go to the Airport Express Kowloon Station for direct transfer to Hong Kong International Airport. MTR Corporation will announce service details in due course.

Under the planned arrangement, high-speed rail passengers arriving at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station will be able to take Apollo Go to the Airport Express Kowloon Station, where they can transfer to the Airport Express for a direct journey to Hong Kong International Airport. Specific service arrangements are to be announced by the MTR Corporation in due course.
