Bank of Beijing announced a market value management plan and an interim dividend of RMB 2.749 billion for 2026. The bank aims to improve asset quality and return on equity, with a cash dividend ratio above 30% historically. The proposed dividend represents 18.4% of net profit attributable to ordinary shareholders for the period.
On September 2, Bank of Beijing held its 2026 interim results briefing. President Dai Wei stated that in the second half of the year, the bank will continue to target long-term improvement in asset quality, strengthen comprehensive asset quality management, and use diversified measures such as cash recovery and write-offs to accelerate the resolution of non-performing assets.
Zhang Yanhua, General Manager of the Financial Accounting Department, noted that amid narrowing net interest margins, the bank will focus on liability cost management to stabilize margins and develop light-capital businesses to optimize income structure. The bank aims to enhance capabilities in wealth management, corporate comprehensive finance, and asset custody to support steady growth in fee income and diversify non-interest income and profitability.
Regarding market value management, Dai Wei said the bank has formulated a plan, establishing a leadership group chaired by the chairman and an execution group led by the president. The bank will focus on improving return on equity and the non-performing loan ratio, address the issue of a low valuation center, and promote innovation in business models and products to cultivate new growth drivers.
In terms of shareholder returns, the bank has distributed cumulative cash dividends exceeding RMB 80 billion since listing, with a cash dividend ratio consistently above 30% for many years. Recently, the board approved a 2026 interim profit distribution proposal of RMB 0.13 per share (pre-tax), totaling approximately RMB 2.749 billion, representing 18.4% of net profit attributable to ordinary shareholders for the period, subject to shareholder approval. The bank will continue to explore market value management methods in compliance with regulations, considering regulatory policies, capital conditions, and market environment, to enhance capital efficiency and overall shareholder returns.
For value communication, the bank will improve information disclosure quality, systematically interpret its development strategy, operating results, and core competitive advantages, and enhance investor relations management. It will strengthen communication with long-term investors, analysts, and market participants, respond promptly to investor concerns, and foster market understanding of its operations and investment value.
