Bank of China Hosts GBIC Conference in Quanzhou, Launches Services for Global Fujian Merchants
Bank of China held its GBIC conference and global Fujian merchants cooperation fair in Quanzhou on September 6, 2026. The bank unveiled a dedicated office service plan and exclusive debit card for Fujian entrepreneurs, and established a global service alliance. Over 300 representatives attended the event.
On September 6, 2026, Bank of China hosted the "United Worldwide, Fujian in Focus" GBIC conference and global Fujian merchants cooperation fair in Quanzhou. Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China, and Wang Yongli, Executive Vice Governor of Fujian Province, attended and delivered speeches.
In his address, Ge Haijiao noted that Fujian is a core area of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road. Bank of China established its presence in Fujian in 1914, making it one of the earliest modern banking institutions in the region. The GBIC platform, created by Bank of China, aims to build an open ecosystem integrating government policy guidance, industrial scenario support, investment capital impetus, and consumer market traction.
During the event, Bank of China released the "Entrepreneur Office" service plan for Fujian merchants' global development, along with an exclusive debit card for Fujian merchants. It also established the global Fujian merchants "Going Global" service alliance, and held roundtable matchmaking sessions for Asia and Africa, as well as advisory activities involving overseas industrial parks, international financial institutions, and professional service providers.
More than 300 representatives from local governments, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and domestic and overseas enterprises participated in the event.
