At the Bank of Communications 2026 interim results briefing held on August 28, Vice President Zhou Wanfu said the bank would persist with effective measures to stabilize its net interest margin. As of end-June, the bank's net interest margin stood at 1.23%, up 2 basis points year on year.

Deposit listed rates have been cut continuously since 2022, with dense and large cuts in 2023 and 2024. Asset repricing was largely completed in the previous two years, and fixed deposits have begun repricing upon maturity from 2026 onward.

The bank's own measures include abandoning a model of pure scale expansion, continuously optimizing the asset-liability structure, and adhering to refined pricing management.
