At the BlizzCon opening ceremony, Blizzard unveiled World of Warcraft: Infinite. The new title will enter closed testing on September 17, 2026, and launch officially on November 5, 2026, bringing players new zones, quests, dungeons, raids, and races.

World of Warcraft: Infinite is positioned as a modernized version of early World of Warcraft and will become the third product line after World of Warcraft Classic and the main World of Warcraft game. Rather than restarting from scratch as the 2019 Classic did, it retains the early massively multiplayer online role-playing experience while adjusting visuals and content. Set in a reinterpreted Azeroth with reworked gameplay, it has a maximum level cap of 60.

Players can choose between the Alliance and the Horde and create characters from a wider range of races and classes, including the new Celestial Elves as well as additional combinations such as undead paladins and dwarf shamans. The Celestial Elves are high elf exiles forced to flee their ancient kingdom and may freely choose to join either the Horde or the Alliance. Players can explore new zones including the Greatwood and Mount Hyjal, which still bears traces of the recent battle against Archimonde. New areas also await in existing zones, along with new dungeons, raids, and more than 1,000 new quests across Azeroth. The game includes hundreds of new quests and nine new dungeons, and players will face tougher challenges in two new max-level raids in the new endgame.

The game lets players customize their characters' strengths and abilities through reworked talent trees and discover new gear and items as they level up and defeat powerful bosses. A new legacy system provides account-based rewards based on player progress across all characters. The game features updated and improved visuals, including new lighting effects and global illumination, volumetric fog and crepuscular rays, water that captures changing light, and terrain that casts realistic shadows as the sun passes over Blackrock Mountain.

Access to World of Warcraft: Infinite is included with a World of Warcraft subscription, and a subscription or game time is required to play. Players who own the Celestial Elf edition or the World of Warcraft Eternal Collection can join the public test as early as September 17, 2026, Pacific Time. The game will launch globally on November 5, 2026. Players can pre-purchase the Celestial Epic Pack to explore Azeroth early in the World of Warcraft: Infinite China beta test on October 6, 2026.
