BMW Unveils 2027 X3, Debuts at Chengdu Auto Show, Deliveries Start September 2026
BMW has released official images of the 2027 X3, a mid-cycle refresh set to make its China debut at the Chengdu International Auto Show on August 21, with deliveries beginning in September 2026. The model features a new M-style grille, a dedicated Sand Dune Grey paint option, upgraded interior amenities, and a cloud-based AI personal assistant. It also comes standard with xDrive all-wheel drive, a 50:50 weight distribution, and 285mm wide tires.
BMW has released official images of the 2027 BMW X3. According to the plan, the new model will make its domestic debut at the Chengdu International Auto Show, which opens on August 21, and is scheduled to begin deliveries in September 2026. This is a mid-cycle refresh, with the front end adopting a new M-style horizontal-slat grille that broadens the visual width. The new car introduces for the first time a Sand Dune Grey exclusive paint finish derived from the M Performance high-performance product line, paired with redesigned M sport wheels.
Inside the cabin, the passenger-side dashboard gains refined stitching, while interior tones are unified and the seat colour options are streamlined. All variants now come standard with front seat ventilation, passenger seat lumbar support, rear seat heating, and larger rear headrest cushions. On the intelligent features front, the new car is equipped with the BMW AI personal assistant, developed on a cloud-based large language model, offering voice interaction capabilities. Starting from the end of August, it will be pushed via OTA to all models equipped with the ninth-generation BMW Operating System.
The new car is fitted with the ninth-generation lateral dynamics management system, and all variants come standard with the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system, featuring a 50:50 balanced weight distribution, complemented by 285mm wide tyres.
