The transaction is one of the largest US dollar loan deals in Asia in 2026. The loan has a three-year term and can be extended to up to five years.
The facility attracted 28 banks, some participating through branches or subsidiaries, and the loan agreement was signed last week. Chinese banks contributed the most, with 15 Chinese banks committing a combined USD 18.9 billion, or 64% of the final loan total. Among them, ICBC committed USD 3 billion, Bank of China (03988) USD 2.5 billion and China Construction Bank (00939) USD 1.5 billion. HSBC was among the foreign banks committing the largest amounts, providing USD 1.5 billion.
