China General Nuclear Power (CGN) announced on September 4 that its subsidiary Shandong Zhaoyuan Nuclear Power Co. , Ltd. will pour the first concrete for the reactor main building of Unit 2 at the Zhaoyuan site on September 5, 2026. The first concrete pour (FCD) will mark the beginning of full construction for the unit, transitioning it into the civil works phase.
