China Construction First Bureau Unit Two Deploys Foundation Pit Air-Dome Technology at Beijing Projects
China Construction First Bureau Unit Two has applied foundation pit air-dome technology at livelihood projects in Beijing, including Guangyuanli and Huangcun Seven Street. The Huangcun Seven Street air dome reaches 69 meters at its highest point, spans 210 meters at its widest, and covers 28,700 square meters. The technology is reusable, reduces bare-soil covering and dust-control costs, and helps avoid weather-related work stoppages.
China Construction First Bureau Unit Two has adopted foundation pit air-dome technology as an entry point for application at livelihood projects in Beijing, including Guangyuanli and Huangcun Seven Street.
The Guangyuanli C3 project is the first foundation pit air-dome pilot by China Construction First Bureau. Located in the core area of the Second Ring Road, the foundation pit sits only 4 meters from residential buildings and has an irregular shape. The project team used a specially shaped air-dome solution, resolved the technical issue of tower cranes passing through the air dome, and accommodated in-situ protection of the Jin Zhongdu ruins.
The Daxing Huangcun Seven Street project represents an iterative upgrade over the Guangyuanli C3 project, using PVDF self-cleaning membrane material, densified steel cables, and an intelligent monitoring and ventilation system to form an all-weather, all-season construction barrier. The air dome at this project reaches a maximum height of 69 meters, a maximum span of 210 meters, and a coverage area of 28,700 square meters. The air dome can be rotated and reused, reducing bare-soil covering and dust-control inputs, and can avoid work-stoppage losses caused by severe weather. Next, the company will continue to advance its green and lean construction system and promote the replication and application of foundation pit air domes, intelligent monitoring, prefabricated construction, and other technologies across multiple scenarios.
