China Energy Engineering Chairman Outlines New Energy System Plans, Advances Yajiang Hydropower and National
China Energy Engineering Group (China Energy Engineering) has published its approach to implementing the newly released 15th Five-Year Plan for building a new energy system. The group, which contributed to national energy and power planning research across the 13th, 14th, and 15th Five-Year Plan periods, is advancing major national projects including the Yajiang hydropower project and the Three Gorges new water transport channel. It operates in over 140 countries and regions, focusing on key technologies in new energy storage, integrated hydrogen, and computing-energy coordination.
The 15th Five-Year Plan for Building a New Energy System has been released. China Energy Engineering Group has undertaken research for major national energy and power plans across the 13th, 14th, and 15th Five-Year Plan periods, and operates the power industry planning research and monitoring early-warning center, as well as big-data platforms for new energy storage and offshore wind. The group possesses a complete industry chain covering planning, consulting, design, investment, construction, and operation, and has developed integrated business models for wind-solar-hydro-thermal-storage, source-grid-load-storage, and investment-construction-operation.
China Energy Engineering has built a multi-tiered innovation platform system encompassing academician expert workstations, national and provincial research institutions, and overseas R&D centers. It has fully mastered complete technology sets and standards for ultra-supercritical double-reheat power generation, million-kilowatt hydroelectric units, third- and fourth-generation nuclear conventional islands, high-voltage AC/DC transmission, and multi-terminal flexible DC transmission. Its business covers more than 140 countries and regions, and it has led the establishment of the "Four New" alliance for new energy, new infrastructure, new equipment, and new materials.
The group is advancing major national projects including the Yajiang hydropower project and the Three Gorges new water transport channel to high standards, and has innovatively developed integrated solutions such as the electrified canal, electrified Dongting Lake, and electrified Yangtze River. It supports the construction of "desert, Gobi, and barren" new energy bases and inter-provincial and inter-regional transmission channels. The group is tackling key technologies in new energy storage, integrated hydrogen energy, and computing-energy coordination, building green and low-carbon demonstration projects, strengthening the "Rongguang" large model, and innovating integrated computing-energy coordination solutions. It is accelerating the establishment of production relations suited to building a strong energy nation, consolidating state-owned enterprise reform achievements, optimizing the full industry chain layout, and cultivating leading backbone enterprises. It is also deepening its presence in key markets along the Belt and Road Initiative, creating benchmark energy cooperation projects in large gas turbines, hydropower, new energy, new energy storage, hydrogen, and ultra-high-voltage power grids, and participating in the formulation of international energy standards.
