China Energy Engineering Issues RMB 2.5 Billion Green Climate-Themed Perpetual Bond at 1.89%

On August 19, China Energy Engineering Corporation successfully issued a green, technology innovation (climate theme) perpetual corporate bond on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The bond has an issue size of RMB 2.5 billion, a term of 5+N years, and a coupon rate of 1.89%, which is 5 basis points lower than the valuation on the pricing reference date, setting a new low for interest rates on bonds of the same term and category issued by construction central state-owned enterprise headquarters.

The bond is the market's first "technology innovation + green + climate theme" perpetual corporate bond, and also the first "climate theme" bond issued by a central state-owned enterprise. The issuance was supported by the Shanghai Stock Exchange's trading platform, and the proceeds will be used for projects that meet the requirements of the relevant themes.
