China Life 2026 Interim Profit Surges 2.29-Fold to RMB134.49 Billion

China Life reported a 2.29-fold year-on-year increase in interim net profit attributable to shareholders, reaching RMB134.489 billion for the six months ended June 2026. Earnings per share stood at RMB4.76, with an interim dividend of RMB0.358 per share, up 50.4%. Total revenue rose 81.5% to RMB434.563 billion, while new business value grew 33.7% to RMB38.167 billion.

China Life has announced its interim results for 2026, with profit attributable to shareholders reaching RMB134.489 billion for the six months ended June 30, up 2.29 times year on year. Earnings per share stood at RMB4.76, and the company declared an interim dividend of RMB0.358 per share, an increase of 50.4% from the same period last year.

Total revenue for the period amounted to RMB434.563 billion, up 81.5% year on year. New policy premiums reached RMB180.039 billion, an increase of 11.6%, while first-year regular premiums totaled RMB101.294 billion, up 24.7% and surpassing RMB100 billion for the first time in a half-year period. Total premiums amounted to RMB536.634 billion, and new business value for the first half reached RMB38.167 billion, up 33.7% year on year.

On the investment front, total investment income reached RMB314.504 billion, up 1.47 times year on year, with an overall investment yield of 5.58%, up 229 basis points from the same period in 2025. As of the end of June, investment assets totaled RMB7.95 trillion, up 7% from the end of 2025. Allocation ratios for bonds, time deposits, and debt-type financial products remained broadly stable, while the allocation to equities and funds (excluding money market funds) rose to 19.14% from 16.89% at the end of 2025, primarily due to the company's long-term positioning in equity assets and fluctuations in equity market values.
