China Mobile Signs Over 7GW of AIDC Capacity, Deploys First 400G OTN Backbone
At the 2026 China Computing Conference on September 12, China Mobile General Manager Chen Yangfan said the company will build computing infrastructure ahead of demand. Its AI data center signings exceed 7GW, with gigawatt-scale data parks and compute-power coordination models. China Mobile has deployed the world's first 400G OTN backbone, built the largest intelligent internet (G-SRv6), and is developing multiple 10,000-GPU intelligent computing centers and a three-tier low-latency service circle.
Speaking on September 12 at the opening ceremony and main forum of the 2026 China Computing Conference, China Mobile General Manager Chen Yangfan said China Mobile will build computing infrastructure moderately ahead of demand. The company will strengthen unified planning for computing power and build a computing facility system that is intensive and efficient, secure and controllable, and green and low-carbon.
In AI data centers, China Mobile is aligning with the national "East Data, West Computing" initiative, laying out gigawatt-scale data parks, and innovating computing-power and electricity coordination and "computing enclave" operating models. Total AIDC signings exceed 7GW.
In intelligent computing supply, China Mobile continues to optimize a layout featuring centralized centers, ubiquitous edge nodes, and integrated training and inference, accelerating the construction of inference clusters and deploying multiple 10,000-GPU intelligent computing centers and a distributed inference network.
In computing interconnection networks, China Mobile is advancing intelligent interconnection between computing facilities and millisecond access to computing power. It has deployed the world's first 400G OTN backbone and built the world's largest intelligent internet (G-SRv6), creating a three-tier low-latency computing service circle of 1ms within cities, 5ms within provinces, and 20ms nationwide.
Next, China Mobile will coordinate the construction of intelligent computing centers, accelerate its upgrade toward higher-value-added operational services, and strengthen the supply of high-quality, high-efficiency computing power.
