He noted that household wealth allocation is shifting from real estate to standardized financial assets, supported by an estimated RMB 730 trillion in domestic household wealth, while client risk appetite shows a K-shaped divergence.

Xie Zhibin, vice president of CITIC Bank, said at the bank's 2026 interim results conference that in the first half of the year, the renewal rate of maturing three-year deposits and the AUM retention rate were broadly in line with 2025, with no new trend emerging. Combining market information and the bank's client data, the structure of household wealth allocation has undergone notable changes, showing two key characteristics. First, the shift of household wealth toward financial assets continues; according to international investment bank research, the domestic household wealth of approximately RMB 730 trillion is steadily moving from real estate to standardized financial assets. Second, client risk appetite is showing a K-shaped divergence: high-risk-appetite clients are more focused on market entry opportunities and capital flexibility, while low-risk-appetite clients seek stable returns and certainty, with demand differences across client segments widening significantly.
