CLP Holdings Posts 2026 Interim Profit of HK$5.997 Billion, Up 6.63%

CLP Holdings has announced its interim results for the six months ended June 30. Shareholders' attributable profit was HK$5.997 billion, up 6.63% year on year. Earnings per share were HK$2.37, and the second interim dividend was maintained at HK$0.63 per share. Revenue for the period was HK$42.856 billion, broadly flat compared with the same period in 2025, as growth in Hong Kong and mainland China was largely offset by lower revenue from EnergyAustralia. In the first half, group operating profit before fair value changes rose 9.7% year on year to HK$5.733 billion. By region, Hong Kong energy operations contributed operating profit of HK$4.736 billion, up 5.97%; mainland China operations contributed HK$899 million, up 3.33%; Australian operations contributed HK$223 million, up 33.53%; Indian operations contributed HK$105 million, up 32.91%; and Taiwan and Southeast Asian operations contributed HK$71 million, up 2.74 times. In the Hong Kong market, electricity sales in the first half totaled 17.038 billion kWh, up 3.6% year on year. Rising power demand from the innovation and technology sector lifted data center sales by 11.8%, accounting for 7.1% of total consumption. The Middle East situation pushed up fuel costs, and CLP Power's average net tariff in August was 4% higher than in January.
