Ford Expands V-8 Availability for 2027 F-150, Cuts Raptor and Tremor Prices

Ford Motor said it will expand the availability of V-8 engines across its 2027 F-150 pickup lineup and lower starting prices on some high-performance models. Ford said the changes are intended to broaden customer choice and help increase sales of a key model. The move comes as automakers address widespread industry concerns about affordability, with some manufacturers, especially the Detroit Three, increasing V-8 engine availability amid weaker emissions regulations and reduced penalties during the Trump administration.

On pricing, the 2027 F-150 Raptor will start at 77,800 dollars, 4,000 dollars below the current model. The 2027 F-150 Tremor will start at 62,400 dollars, about 5,300 dollars lower than the current model. Ford said on September 15 that the price reductions were achieved by removing some standard features, such as heated second-row seats, and by replacing power controls with manual controls on components including the steering column.

On V-8 engines, Ford will offer a 5.0-litre engine option across the entire F-150 lineup, including the first V-8 option on the high-end King Ranch and Platinum models since the 2023 model year. The changes are part of a series of updates to the 2027 F-150 range. The company will also give several models exterior updates and launch a Carhartt model in partnership with the Detroit clothing company Carhartt.

The 2027 F-150 lineup updates come as Ford continues to increase supply of the key pickup. A fire at an aluminum supplier severely affected Ford's production over the past year. F-Series trucks, which include the F-150 and larger Super Duty models such as the F-250, F-350 and F-450, were heavily affected by supplier problems because of their large aluminum bodies and other components.
