Ford July 2026 US Sales Fall 10.2% on Planned Cuts to Low-Margin Business
Ford's US sales fell 10.2% in July 2026 from a year earlier, with the company attributing the decline to deliberate actions to phase out the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair and reduce low-margin daily rental fleet business. Rental deliveries dropped 96% year on year. Cumulative sales for the first seven months fell 9.7%, after a 9.6% first-half decline. Ford is prioritizing F-Series retail supply amid production recovery after two fires at a major aluminum supplier in 2025.
Ford Motor said its US sales in July 2026 fell 10.2% year on year, describing the decline as the result of a deliberate portfolio adjustment. The company is winding down production of the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair and reducing its low-margin daily rental fleet business. Daily rental deliveries were down 96% from the same month last year.
For the first seven months of 2026, Ford's cumulative US sales fell 9.7%, following a 9.6% decline in the first half. The company said it is prioritizing retail supply of F-Series pickups as it works through the production impact of two fires at a major aluminum supplier in 2025.
