Former Bank of Communications Vice President Hou Weidong Arrested and Prosecuted for Bribery
Hou Weidong, former vice president of Bank of Communications, has been arrested and prosecuted on suspicion of bribery. The case, investigated by the National Supervisory Commission, was transferred for prosecution. Following designation by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Chongqing Municipal People's Procuratorate approved Hou's arrest. The Fifth Branch of the Chongqing Municipal People's Procuratorate has since filed a public prosecution with the Chongqing Fifth Intermediate People's Court, where procedural rights were observed.
The case of Hou Weidong, former vice president of Bank of Communications, who is suspected of bribery, has been prosecuted by the procuratorial authorities. During the review and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organ informed the defendant Hou Weidong of his litigation rights in accordance with the law, interrogated the defendant, and heard the opinions of his defense counsel.
