Former China First Heavy Industries Deputy General Manager Sentenced to 15 Years for 67.98 Million Yuan
Lu Wenjun, former deputy general manager of China First Heavy Industries Group, was sentenced by the Xiangtan Intermediate People's Court in Hunan on 10 August 2026 to 15 years in prison and fined RMB 5 million for bribery. The court found he accepted bribes worth more than RMB 67.98 million between 2002 and 2022. Confiscated assets and interest were turned over to the state treasury, with continued recovery for any shortfall. Leniency was given because he confessed, cooperated, and substantially returned illicit gains.
On 10 August 2026, the Xiangtan Intermediate People's Court of Hunan Province publicly delivered a first-instance verdict in the bribery case of Lu Wenjun, former member of the Party Committee Standing Committee and deputy general manager of China First Heavy Industries Group Co. , Ltd. Lu was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for bribery and fined RMB 5 million. The bribe-derived property and its interest that had been confiscated were ordered to be turned over to the state treasury, with continued recovery for any shortfall. After the verdict was announced, the court said Lu had been given a lighter punishment because he confessed to his crimes, cooperated with the investigation, and returned most of the illicit gains. The trial was held in public on 9 May 2026, with more than 30 people, including people's congress deputies, political advisory body members, and members of the public, in attendance.
