Geely Automobile Holdings Limited released its interim results for 2026 on August 17. For the six months ended June 30, profit attributable to shareholders stood at RMB9.091 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.79%. Basic earnings per share were RMB0.8413, with no interim dividend declared. Revenue for the period reached RMB173.6 billion, up 14.67% year on year, setting a new record and marking six consecutive years of steady growth. Core net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB9.68 billion, up 46% year on year, outpacing revenue growth. The core net profit margin attributable to shareholders was 5.6%, up 27% year on year.
Despite rising raw material costs, intense market competition, and a higher share of new energy vehicle sales, the group achieved a significant improvement in gross margin, which increased by 1.6 percentage points year on year to 17.9%. This was driven by higher sales of more profitable premium and export models, as well as economies of scale, synergies, and effective cost control. Revenue per vehicle rose 16% year on year to RMB112,000. Total sales volume in the first half reached 1.423 million vehicles, up 1% year on year, another record high. Domestic sales totaled 948,700 vehicles, giving the group an 11.4% share of the domestic passenger vehicle market.
The group stated that in the second half of 2026, the global automotive industry will continue to face multiple challenges, including macroeconomic volatility, geopolitical shifts, policy adjustments, and intensifying competition. The group will firmly advance its "One Geely" strategy, with globalization, premiumization, and intelligence as core drivers, aiming to achieve its full-year sales target of 3.45 million vehicles. Having completed approximately 1.42 million units in the first half, the group will accelerate market expansion and product launches in the second half.
The group will continue to uphold its energy diversification strategy, leveraging a dual-drive approach of "technology leadership plus technology democratization" to enhance the competitiveness of its brands' products. In electrification, technologies such as the 800-volt high-voltage architecture will be gradually applied to Geely Galaxy brand products, promoting the popularization of advanced technology. Meanwhile, building on the existing 900-volt architecture in premium products, the group will continue to develop more advanced ultra-high-voltage architectures and battery technologies, and comprehensively promote the hybridization of fuel vehicle products, further enriching its i-HEV intelligent hybrid product matrix.
