Google Launches Gemini 3.7 Flash at Half the Price of Predecessor

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a work-focused model for coding, agents, and complex workflows, at an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens—half the rates of its predecessor, Gemini 3.6 Flash. The model scores 43.6% on FrontierCode 1.1 Main (up from 34.4%) and 65.3% on DeepSWE v1.1 (up from 49%). It is available through Google Antigravity, the Gemini API, AI Studio, and Android Studio, and powers the Gemini Spark agent. Google has also begun pretraining Gemini 4.

On August 13, Eastern Time, Google announced the launch of the Gemini 3.7 Flash model, targeting applications such as coding, agents, and complex workflows. Google describes it as its 'most intelligent work-focused model' to date, with improvements over its predecessor in code debugging, production-grade code generation, and multi-step task execution.

Google's test data show that the model scored 43.6% on the FrontierCode 1.1 Main benchmark, up from 34.4% for the previous 3.6 Flash; on DeepSWE v1.1, the score rose from 49.0% to 65.3%; and its Elo rating in WebDev Arena reached 1588, above the previous 1538.

Pricing: Gemini 3.7 Flash has an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens until December 31, 2026, both half the original prices of 3.6 Flash. From January 1, 2027, prices will adjust to $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens.

The model is available through Google Antigravity and the Gemini API, and can be used in Google AI Studio and Android Studio. Google's AI productivity agent, Gemini Spark, has also adopted the model starting August 13.

This launch is the latest in a series of rapid updates to Google's Flash model family. On July 21, Google released three models simultaneously: Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber. Among them, 3.6 Flash is positioned as a work-focused model for coding, knowledge work, and multimodal tasks; 3.5 Flash-Lite emphasizes low latency and high throughput, suitable for agent search and document processing; and 3.5 Flash Cyber targets cybersecurity tasks. Additionally, in July Google said its flagship model, Gemini 3.5 Pro, is being tested with partners, with no specific public release date announced.

Google has also started pretraining its next-generation model, Gemini 4. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said on the July earnings call that the company aims to release models faster and has invested substantial computing resources in training Gemini 4. Google has also strengthened Gemini 3.7 Flash's safety capabilities, including protections against malicious hacking and the misuse of dangerous chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear materials.
