Haier Smart Home Unveils World-First Four-Drum AI Laundry System at IFA 2026
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Haier Smart Home launched the world's first four-drum AI laundry care system, featuring three washing drums and one drying drum. The system uses AI vision to detect fabrics, prevent color mixing, and optimize rinsing. Haier's earlier three-drum series has entered over 600,000 Chinese households and is sold in 35 countries. The company also introduced a 592-millimeter-deep model for European kitchens and improved energy efficiency by 75% in its NX series.
On September 4, local time, the 2026 International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA 2026) opened in Berlin, Germany. Haier Smart Home showcased its laundry care products across a 3,500-square-meter exhibition area, with Haier washing machines unveiling the world's first four-drum AI laundry care system. Three washing drums come standard with AI direct-drive cleaning technology. Large items such as bedding are placed in the main drum, which can wash a four-piece set in 29 minutes. The left and right small drums are designed for partitioned washing of baby clothes, underwear, and pet blankets.
The AI eye detects fabrics before washing to prevent color-mixing risks, captures foam levels in real time during washing to adjust rinsing cycles, and reminds users to retrieve forgotten clothes after washing. While the three washing drums operate, the drying drum can work simultaneously, using 3D perspective drying 3.0 technology. The AI dual-engine full variable frequency technology enables 1:1 full-time forward and reverse rotation, leaving down jackets fluffy and clump-free after drying, and is equipped with sunlight care technology. The product supports AI human-sensing interaction: the drum light turns on at a distance of 1.2 meters, the machine greets and powers on when the user approaches within 0.3 meters, the lower drum opens with a wave, and the upper drum unlocks with a light tap. It can also coordinate with a laundry embodied robot to load clothes into the washing machine and store them in the wardrobe after drying.
In 2025, Haier washing machines launched the world's first three-drum "Lazy Three-Drum Series," which has entered more than 600,000 Chinese households and is sold in 35 countries and regions, including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Thailand. To meet different market demands, the Vietnam version upgraded drum self-cleaning and 80°C steam sterilization functions, and added a 15-minute "essence fragrance wash." The Middle East and Africa version added a gentle headscarf washing program. For Europe's relatively high electricity costs, the German team developed energy-saving technology to reduce consumption.
To fit the standard 600-millimeter depth of European kitchen cabinets, Haier launched a three-drum product with a body compressed to 592 millimeters, enabling built-in installation. At this IFA, Haier's large white goods platform showcased a full-scenario washing, drying, and care matrix. The main brand brought the Zhongzi series, LS series, Vision15 washing and drying suites, NX series, and MINI wash products, while the Candy brand exhibited its MyWash and MyDry family series. After platform integration, global research and development and smart manufacturing processes are connected, allowing the partitioned technology verified in the three-drum model to be iterated to four drums, and the energy-saving technology accumulated in the X series has improved the NX series' energy efficiency to A-75%.
