Hainan Airlines Holding reported 2026 first-half revenue of RMB35.52 billion, up 7.36% year on year, with net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB270 million, a surge of 374.43%. Transport revenue rose 7.30% to RMB32.62 billion. Despite higher jet fuel costs, refined management and route optimization, plus favorable exchange gains, boosted profitability. Traffic volume edged up 0.35%, while passenger numbers fell 1.62% and cargo rose 1.82%. The airline maintained market leadership in Haikou and strengthened core hubs.

Hainan Airlines Holding disclosed its 2026 semi-annual report on August 25. In the first half, the company achieved total operating revenue of RMB35.517 billion, up 7.36% year on year; transport revenue reached RMB32.616 billion, up 7.30%; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB270 million, up 374.43% year on year. During the first half of 2026, jet fuel costs rose, but the company implemented refined management and optimized its route network, while exchange gains contributed positively to net profit.

In terms of operating data, total traffic volume during the reporting period was 664,931 million tonne-kilometres, up 0.35% year on year; passenger traffic was 33.54 million, down 1.62%; cargo and mail traffic was 289,800 tonnes, up 1.82%; flight departures were 221,400, down 2.77%; flight hours were 584,800, down 3.31%. As of June 30, Hainan Airlines Holding operated a fleet of 367 aircraft.

In market layout, Hainan Airlines Holding, based at its main hub in Hainan, implemented differentiated market strategies aligned with national initiatives including the Hainan Free Trade Port, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. During the reporting period, it maintained the top market share in Haikou and ranked among the leading carriers in core cities such as Sanya, Xi'an, Urumqi, Kunming, Fuzhou, and Nanning. The company continued to increase resource allocation to core markets including Hainan, Beijing, Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Chengdu-Chongqing, and Xi'an, advanced differentiated development of hubs in Beijing, Haikou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing, and improved its international trunk network and domestic air shuttle network.
