Mainland China's crackdown on cross-border investment has not affected account openings at HSBC Hong Kong. HSBC data showed that in the first three months of 2026, monthly new accounts at HSBC Hong Kong were slightly below 100,000. The figure rose to 111,000 in May and 106,000 in June.
