HSBC Sells Tokyo Headquarters to Mitsubishi HC Capital, Moves to New Office by 2029

HSBC Holdings has sold its Tokyo headquarters building in Nihonbashi to a division of Mitsubishi HC Capital, with the transaction completing in March 2026. HSBC will lease back part of the property until it relocates to a new mixed-use office tower near Tokyo Station, scheduled for completion in 2029.

HSBC Holdings has sold its headquarters building in Tokyo and plans to relocate to a new office tower currently under construction in the Japanese capital. According to registry information, a division of financial services company Mitsubishi HC Capital acquired the HSBC Building in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district in March 2026. HSBC currently leases part of the building and will subsequently move to a mixed-use office complex near Tokyo Station, with completion scheduled for 2029.
