Hua Hong Semiconductor Q2 2026 Revenue Hits Record $717.5 Million

Hua Hong Semiconductor reported record second-quarter 2026 revenue of $717.5 million, up 26.8% year-on-year and 8.6% quarter-on-quarter. Gross margin improved to 16.5%, and profit attributable to owners surged 385.9% to $38.6 million. Shipments rose 17.9% to 1.538 million 8-inch equivalent wafers, with capacity utilization at 102.8%. The company also received regulatory approval for its acquisition of Hua Li Micro, which is expected to strengthen its technology portfolio and scale.

Hua Hong Semiconductor announced its second-quarter 2026 results. For the quarter ended June 30, the company's sales revenue reached $717.5 million, a record high, up 26.8% year-on-year and 8.6% quarter-on-quarter. Gross margin was 16.5%, up 5.6 percentage points year-on-year and 3.5 percentage points quarter-on-quarter. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was $38.6 million, up 385.9% year-on-year and 84.6% quarter-on-quarter. Basic earnings per share were $0.022. Gross profit for the period was $118.4 million, up 92.2% year-on-year and 37.6% quarter-on-quarter. The company said revenue growth was mainly driven by higher wafer shipments and higher average selling prices.

In terms of shipments, the second quarter shipped 1.538 million 8-inch equivalent wafers, up 17.9% year-on-year and 5.8% quarter-on-quarter. Overall capacity utilization was 102.8%, up 3.1 percentage points quarter-on-quarter. By wafer size, 8-inch wafer revenue was $271.8 million, up 17.0% year-on-year, accounting for 37.9% of total revenue; 12-inch wafer revenue was $445.7 million, up 33.5% year-on-year, accounting for 62.1% of total revenue. As of the end of the quarter, the company's monthly capacity reached 508,000 8-inch equivalent wafers, up from 489,000 at the end of the first quarter.

By technology platform, embedded non-volatile memory revenue was $200.1 million, up 41.8% year-on-year, accounting for 27.9% of total revenue; standalone non-volatile memory revenue was $68.8 million, up 149.3% year-on-year, with its share rising from 4.9% in the same period of 2025 to 9.6%; power device revenue was $182.3 million, up 9.4% year-on-year; analog and power management revenue was $183.1 million, up 13.0% year-on-year; logic and RF revenue was $83.2 million, up 21.3% year-on-year. By process node, revenue from nodes of 65nm and below was $205.1 million, up 63.4% year-on-year, accounting for 28.6% of total revenue.

By geography, revenue from mainland China and Hong Kong was $563.7 million, up 20.0% year-on-year, accounting for 78.6% of total revenue; North America revenue was $93.8 million, up 77.0% year-on-year; Europe revenue was $28.0 million, up 90.1% year-on-year; other Asia revenue was $32.0 million, up 11.6% year-on-year. By end market, consumer electronics revenue was $481.3 million, up 34.7% year-on-year, accounting for 67.1% of total revenue; industrial and automotive revenue was $162.1 million, up 25.5% year-on-year; communications products revenue was $62.5 million, down 12.8% year-on-year; computing products revenue was $11.7 million, up 48.1% year-on-year.

In terms of cash flow, net cash generated from operating activities in the second quarter was $338.1 million, up 99.3% year-on-year and 159.2% quarter-on-quarter. Total capital expenditure was $356.6 million, down significantly from $924.9 million in the first quarter, of which 12-inch related capital expenditure was $325.9 million. As of the end of the quarter, the company's cash and cash equivalents stood at $4,532.2 million. The debt-to-asset ratio was 36.3%, down 1.6 percentage points from 37.9% at the end of the first quarter; the current ratio fell from 3.4 times to 2.0 times, and the quick ratio from 3.0 times to 1.8 times. Inventory was $584.8 million, up from $533.3 million at the end of the first quarter.

In addition, Hua Hong Semiconductor has received the registration approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission for the acquisition of Hua Li Micro. After the asset integration, the company will further strengthen its technology portfolio and enhance operational scale effects.
