Huawei Unveils Peerium Computing Architecture for the AI Era

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Huawei has released the Peerium computing architecture for the AI era. The architecture can make one million processors function as a single computer, addressing evolving AI compute requirements.

Peerium is based on nested parallelism, unified memory addressing and peer-to-peer interconnection, enabling strong scaling to one million processors. It also introduces Nested BSP, a design that differs from von Neumann single-machine architectures and master-slave architectures, allowing one million processors to run as one larger computer.

Lingqu is the key interconnect technology for implementing the Peerium computing architecture. Based on an open protocol, it is a high-speed bus that can scalably connect CPUs, NPUs, memory, SSDs, network cards and switches. With Lingqu, equal interconnection of compute, storage and networking can be achieved.
