Intel Cancels 12-Core Xe3P iGPU SKU for Nova Lake-S Desktop, Defers It to Razor Lake-S

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Intel has cancelled the 12-core Xe3P integrated graphics SKU previously planned for its next-generation Nova Lake-S desktop processors, deferring the configuration to the successor Razor Lake-S line. Nova Lake-S desktop chips will instead use a standard 4-core Xe3 iGPU. The 12-core Xe3P design remains in mobile parts such as Nova Lake-H. Razor Lake-S shares the LGA 1954 socket with Nova Lake-S. Intel has not disclosed final specifications or production schedules.

Intel's integrated graphics plans for its desktop processor lineup have been adjusted. The 12-core Xe3P iGPU SKU originally intended for the next-generation Nova Lake-S desktop processors has been cancelled, with the configuration deferred in its entirety to the subsequent Razor Lake-S product line. Under the earlier plan, this specific SKU was to feature 4 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores and 4 low-power efficiency cores, together with 12 Xe3P architecture core units, 20MB of L2 cache and a separate VCCGT power delivery design, allowing the iGPU module alone to reach a power draw of 40 watts.

The revised roadmap shows that the Nova Lake-S desktop version will no longer offer any model equipped with a 12-core Xe3P iGPU. Within the Nova Lake-S desktop lineup, standard integrated graphics will be based mainly on the 4-core Xe3 unit. The 12-core Xe3P iGPU will remain in mobile chips such as Nova Lake-H, which target the high-end mobile notebook platform. Whether the Nova Lake Edge variant for the edge computing market is affected by this change has not yet been clarified.

Under the adjusted plan, the 12-core Xe3P desktop iGPU solution will be taken up later by the successor Razor Lake-S. Razor Lake-S and Nova Lake-S share the same LGA 1954 socket. Intel had previously moved the AX product line as a whole from Nova Lake-AX to Razor Lake-AX. Intel has not yet published final specification details for Nova Lake or Razor Lake, and further mass-production scheduling and architecture information has not been disclosed.
