JPMorgan has officially become the first global banking partner for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games. While the terms of the agreement were not disclosed, partnerships of this nature are estimated to be valued at more than $200 million per four-year cycle, representing a nine-figure investment.

The partnership covers the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the 2030 French Alps Winter Olympics. JPMorgan plans to hire more than 100 commercial bankers in Southern California, an increase of 30%, to support its presence at the Los Angeles Games. The company already serves 5 million consumer banking clients and 589,000 small business clients in Los Angeles.

Olympic organizers have created a joint venture to centralize the commercialization of event rights, allowing companies to cover the Los Angeles Games, the U. S. team, and the Paralympics under a single agreement. New marketing opportunities include a 100-day torch relay spanning all 50 U. states, as well as naming rights for multiple venues. These measures are designed to balance the commercialization of the Olympics with revenue growth.

JPMorgan has extensive investments in the sports industry, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Chase Center in San Francisco, which serve as home arenas for the NBA's Knicks and Warriors, respectively. The company is also a long-time sponsor of the U. Open tennis tournament and recently announced sponsorship of Ohio State University's athletic programs. In 2026, JPMorgan launched an athlete committee featuring seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and World Cup champion Alex Morgan, aimed at enhancing financial literacy and wealth management for sports industry professionals.
