JPMorgan's 2026 on-the-job training programme has officially commenced. The programme offers local students practical opportunities to learn about the banking industry, with a new cohort of young apprentices joining the firm's various business and corporate functions today. Since 2023, the programme has supported 64 apprentices, including sub-degree and higher diploma students, as well as recent graduates with less than two years of full-time work experience.
Apprentices will join business units such as commercial and investment banking and asset management, working alongside professionals on projects. Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, participants receive mentorship, collaborate with different teams to expand their networks, and have the chance to take part in activities including dragon boat racing, the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge, and volunteer services.
The programme covers topics such as workforce development, youth employment, skills cultivation, social mobility, and the long-term competitiveness of the financial services industry, aiming to nurture talent for a rapidly evolving workplace. Since its inception, some apprentices have subsequently secured full-time positions.
