JR West Train Departs One Minute Early on Kosei Line, Stranding One Passenger

JR West announced on the 16th that a new rapid train on the Kosei Line departed one minute early from Otsukyo Station in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. The train, originally scheduled to depart at 10:54 a. m. , actually left the platform at 10:53 a. , one minute early. A passenger who missed the train subsequently reported it to the station, confirming the incident.

According to JR West, the early departure was caused by the crew not properly confirming the time. The new rapid train was carrying about 600 passengers at the time.
