Kioxia Launches GP1 Enterprise SSDs with PCIe 6.0, 10 Million IOPS, Cutting AI HBM Dependence
Kioxia launched its GP1 series enterprise solid-state drives in August 2026. Based on the PCIe 6.0 interface, the drives aim to reduce AI computing clusters' dependence on high-cost high-bandwidth memory by serving as an intermediate layer between traditional NVMe storage and GPU onboard HBM. The GP1 series supports NVMe 2.2 and second-generation XL-FLASH technology, delivering 10 million read/write operations per second. Available in E3. S and E1. S form factors with cold-plate liquid cooling options, the series offers endurance of up to 50 full-disk writes per day.
