The Knicks, the defending champions, are now valued at $12.7 billion, while the Bulls are valued at $8.1 billion. The Lakers' own valuation has risen from $10 billion to $12.5 billion, an increase of 25%.
Team valuations are based on 2024-25 season revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA). The Warriors generated $840 million in revenue and $362 million in EBITDA; the Knicks posted $619 million in revenue and $91 million in EBITDA; and the Lakers recorded $565 million in revenue and $158 million in EBITDA. The lowest-valued team, the Memphis Grizzlies, is worth $4.55 billion, with revenue of $330 million and EBITDA of $77 million. The Minnesota Timberwolves posted negative EBITDA of $56 million, the lowest in the league.
