Lightelligence Shows Second-Generation Optoelectronic Hybrid Computing Board, Targets Hong Kong Listing in
Lightelligence has unveiled its second-generation optoelectronic hybrid computing board, which uses a silicon photonics chip approach and laser-driven high-performance computing. Head-to-head testing published in a paper shows a performance advantage approaching three orders of magnitude over mainstream electrically driven computing chips in specific scenarios. The product uses mature process technology and draws less power and generates less heat than electrical computing cards. The company, founded in 2017, plans to list in Hong Kong in April 2026.
At its office in Pudong, Shanghai, Lightelligence Chief Financial Officer Zhang Hong presented the company's second-generation optoelectronic hybrid computing board. The board uses a silicon photonics chip approach, with lasers driving high-performance computing. The results have been published, and a paper reporting head-to-head testing shows that, compared with mainstream electrically driven computing chips, the solution achieves a performance advantage approaching three orders of magnitude in specific scenarios. The product uses mature process technology, and both power consumption and heat generation are lower than those of electrical computing cards.
Since its founding in 2017, Lightelligence has changed office locations several times amid business expansion, but has remained rooted in Pudong. A core wafer fab supplier is less than a seven-minute drive from the company, and its Series C investors include Pudong Venture Capital. In April 2026, Lightelligence is set to list in Hong Kong.
