Meta CTO Bosworth: AI Time Savings Should Go to Product, Not 'Meta Days' Holidays

Bosworth said Meta employees are doing the most exciting work on the planet and that an extra hour should be used to create more content for billions of daily users. Meta currently provides four weeks of paid leave plus public holidays, having replaced Meta Days with two flexible personal days.

An employee asked whether the company could reinstate the canceled 'Meta Days' program, which previously allowed staff to take several extra days off. Bosworth said the saved time should be invested in product development, as Meta employees are 'doing the most exciting things on the planet.' He added that if he had an extra hour, he would use it to create more content for the billions of users who use the products daily.
Bosworth told the employee that he was not trying to be difficult, but 'stop asking about Meta Days, it's stupid.' Meta currently offers employees four weeks of paid leave per year plus public holidays. The company previously canceled Meta Days and replaced it with two additional 'floating holidays' that employees can use at their discretion. As of the time of writing, Meta had not publicly responded to Bosworth's remarks.
