Meta Plans Camera-Free Luna Smart Glasses for Fall 2026

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Meta Platforms plans to launch Luna, a camera-free smart glasses model, in fall 2026 to expand its hardware lineup, as privacy concerns surround the cameras on its existing smart glasses. Luna carries six microphones for voice interaction with Meta's AI chatbot and its recently launched consumer AI agent Muse, plus a side button for quick Meta AI activation. Its speakers direct sound toward the wearer's ears without covering them, and its thinner temples make it look closer to ordinary glasses.

Meta Platforms plans to launch a smart glasses model without a camera in fall 2026, expanding its hardware product line. The product is known internally by the code name Luna. The cameras on its existing smart glasses are currently raising privacy concerns.

Luna has six built-in microphones, allowing users to interact by voice with Meta's artificial intelligence chatbot and with Muse, the company's recently launched consumer AI agent. A button on the side of the glasses can be used to activate Meta AI quickly. Its speakers follow the design of existing models, directing sound toward the wearer's ears without covering them. Compared with Meta's earlier smart glasses, such as the Ray-Ban line, Luna has thinner temples and looks closer to ordinary glasses.
