Traditional performance analysis relies on the Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA), but the process is cumbersome and requires manually reviewing large volumes of tables, process data, and call stacks. Microsoft is testing deep integration of AI into WPA, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to allow AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to communicate directly with WPA. Developers can ask questions in natural language, such as what is causing a spike in CPU utilization or heavy disk usage, and the AI will compare underlying data and generate an analytical summary, lowering the technical barrier to professional performance analysis.

The current WPA MCP is in early preview and supports only GitHub Copilot, which requires a paid subscription. Because AI-generated analytical conclusions carry uncertainty or the risk of misjudgment, developers still need to manually verify relevant data before making final decisions.

In response to recent memory price increases, Microsoft is optimizing hardware devices with 8GB of RAM. It is improving system scheduling and memory management mechanisms to enhance the smoothness of Windows 11 and WinUI framework applications under low-memory configurations. Microsoft is also testing a low-latency profile for low-end PCs, which provides an instantaneous CPU frequency boost when launching the Start menu or running office software, reducing micro-stutters and accelerating the startup of applications such as Outlook and Teams. These performance optimization measures will be pushed to users in batches over the coming months.
