Minmetals New Energy Starts Mass Production Prep for LFP Generation 4, Sodium-Ion Pilot Line Due in 2026

On September 3, Minmetals New Energy stated at the STAR Market's 2026 semi-annual new energy industry collective earnings call that its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) power battery Generation 4 single-sintering product has passed customer evaluation and has initiated mass production preparation. The Generation 4 and 4.5 double-sintering products have completed trial production and are currently undergoing scale evaluations at multiple customers.

Furthermore, the company said its 100-tonne-per-year sodium-ion battery material pilot production line is scheduled to be completed and commissioned within 2026.
