Nevada Energy Sues Data Center Developer Over US$1 Billion Grid Upgrade Costs

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Nevada Energy, the largest energy supplier in the US state of Nevada, has formally filed a lawsuit against a developer building a data center in the state, accusing it of attempting to shift electricity costs onto consumers.

The data center developer responded that Nevada Energy has refused to honour previously promised power supply services, while still requiring it to invest US$1 billion in grid upgrade works. The dispute currently centres on the sharing of grid upgrade costs and the fulfilment of power supply agreement obligations.
